Privacy Policy

Who we are

DS Auto gift & discount (the “App”) is a Shopify app developed by Donum Studio (“we”, “us”). It lets merchants create tiered discounts and free gift promotions, and shows a progress bar in their online store. This policy explains what data the App processes when a merchant installs it, and how that data is used, shared and deleted.

Information we collect from merchants

• Store identification: your store’s myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues when you install the App, together with the permissions you granted. We need these to call the Shopify API on your behalf.
• Store contact details: when you install the App, we read your store name and contact email from Shopify to send a single welcome email. We store only the time the email was sent, not the email address.
• App settings: whether you have dismissed the setup guide, when you enabled the App in Shopify Sidekick, your subscription plan status (obtained from Shopify), the IDs of discounts the App paused because of plan limits, and whether each free gift in your campaigns is in stock (so sold-out gifts aren't added to carts).
• Usage counters: aggregated daily counts per store, such as how many times free gifts were added to carts automatically, how long that took, and how many errors occurred, together with the name and version of your store’s theme (to find themes the App doesn’t work well with). These counters contain no information about individual shoppers.

Your campaigns (tiers, rewards, selected products and gifts) are saved in your own Shopify store as discounts and metafields, not in our database.

Information about your customers

We do not collect or store personal information about your customers, such as names, email addresses, shipping addresses, order history or payment details.

The App’s storefront script runs in the shopper’s browser: it reads the current cart to show the progress bar and to add or remove free gifts. Cart contents are not sent to or stored on our servers; only the anonymous usage counters described above are. Discounts are calculated by a Shopify Function that runs on Shopify’s infrastructure during checkout.

How we use information

• To provide the App’s features: creating and updating discounts, publishing campaign settings to your storefront, and applying plan limits.
• To send the welcome email and to respond when you contact us.
• To monitor reliability, using the usage counters, which are also shown to you on the App’s home page.

We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

• Shopify — platform, authentication, billing and the Sidekick integration.
• Vercel — hosting of the App’s server.
• Supabase — database for the information listed above.
• Resend — delivery of the welcome email.
• Cloudflare — forwarding of emails sent to our support address.

We share data only with the providers that operate the App, and only as needed for that purpose:

Retention and deletion

• When you uninstall the App, your store’s access tokens are deleted immediately.
• About 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your store’s data. We then delete all remaining data about your store from our database, including settings and usage counters.
• Discounts created by the App remain in your Shopify admin after uninstalling, and you can delete them there at any time.
• Shopify’s customer data requests and customer erasure requests are acknowledged automatically: because we store no personal information about your customers, there is nothing to export or erase.

Security

All connections to the App use HTTPS. Access tokens and settings are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible, and access is limited to the App’s server.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it is processed. To make a request, contact us at support@donum.studio. You can also uninstall the App at any time to start the deletion described above.

Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
